Founded in March 2023, the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) aims to promote the sustainable and responsible growth of the Brazilian gambling market.
IBJR: An Institute for Change
Brazil is one of the Latin American countries that still lacks proper legislation for the iGaming sector. In early 2023, public discussions on the topic resumed, leading to the creation of the IBJR (Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming). The IBJR aims to help establish a regulatory environment that is safe for consumers, sustainable for the industry, and beneficial for the Brazilian economy.
Founded in March 2023, the IBJR consists of 16 organizations, including 11 members and 5 associates.
Having Fun Responsibly
Betting can be a safe and fun form of entertainment for millions of Brazilians. We believe it starts with raising awareness among players and encouraging companies in the sector to promote a healthier relationship with betting. The expertise of the Institute’s members shows that this vision is achievable.
After years of growth in the global betting and gambling industry, Brazilian players and organizations have plenty of successful examples from regulated countries to follow. The next steps should focus on spreading this information locally.
